Species text
Mordellistena acuticollis was added to the British list through two examples recorded from Shooters Hill in West Kent in 1984 and 1985. The larvae are possibly associated with creeping thistle Cirsium arvense. Some cutting or other disturbance, on a rotational basis, may be needed to maintain open conditions (Hyman & Parsons, 1992). In Essex it has been collected by P.R. Harvey at several sites near the Thames. References
